Is Disney Cruise Worth It?
Our family has been on over 25 cruises including Carnival, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, Norweigan Cruises, and Disney Cruise Line. While each cruise line has something unique about them, we were BLOWN AWAY by Disney Cruises and the customer service, attention to details, and magical touches throughout every area of our onboard experience. Yes it costs more, but you get what you pay for. Come take a peak at why once you take a Disney cruise you’ll be hooked!
disney cruise is it worth it
- Port Canaveral is magical from the get-go! The entire embarkation is super well organized before hand and the cast members at the terminal – from the baggage handlers to check in staff – are all incredibly friendly and helpful. This was a HUGE difference from all the other lines we traveled. The port is very clean and well maintained. Plus as you will enter the ship, you will enter through a Mickey arch. So cute!
- Your family is announced and welcomed with thunderous applause when you get on the ship; this is such a fun touch!
- Setting Sail Deck Party with streamers, characters, and lots of FUN! Unlike the other cruiselines who barely make mention of sailing way, let alone have an over-the-top family friendly party, Disney makes sure you have an amazing time on your cruise vacation from the first moment.
- Every day at noon the Mickey funnel plays the first 7 notes from “If You Wish Upon a Star”
- Lots of storage in staterooms (drawers and all of the room under the main bed!) The only other stateroom that came close was on Princess crusie lines.
- Many staterooms accommodate up to 5 guests (oceanview or balcony) to save families BIG! Both Royal and Carnival do have rooms for 5 or 6, but they are harder to price out online.
- Parents bed is not two beds pulled together, but one big mattress! This is a big selling point to me. And the beds are in great condition and super comfy. Every other line I sail seems to have slumpy, bumpy mattresses.
- Towel animals in your stateroom with some “sleepy” chocolate nightly (there are other cruiselies that do towel animals, but not both)
- Dinner and a show! On select ships you get to hear live music and interact with characters liek Rapunzel from Tangled, Miguel from Coco, Elsa and Anna from Frozen, or Antman from Marvel.
- Curtain to separate parents sleeping area from children’s area (this is great for watching tv at night or just getting some general privacy)
- Plush and extra comfy bedding! If I could take it home with me, I would!
- Love the amazing spa-quality bath products are free in your stateroom
- Bath and a half in most staterooms means less fighting over the bathroom! This is so handy so people can shower and use the bathroom at the same time and to seperate out all the toothbrushes and swimsuits that need to be hung up.
- Tub in most bathrooms (a MUST for bathing little ones!)
- Large closets including more than enough drawers, closet space
- Kids menus with favorite Disney characters at meals time means less fussing as kids wait for their dinner. But kids can order anything they want from the adult or kid menu! My kids enjoy the filet mignon off the adult menu and a mickey bar for dessert off the kids selections
- Dinner shows that bring your artwork to life!
- Pin trading (including awesome Officer’s Pin Trading Event!)
- Animator’s Palate has to be the coolest restaurant ever! It changes color, is so well themed, and the walls are always drawing something
