Disney Cruise Line Marvel Day at Sea
Are you a Mavel fan? My kids sure are! While I am not a hard-core fan, I enjoy various characters and movies and was excited to experience Disney cruise line marvel in 2026! Because of bad weather, we actually got to experience it twice! That meant we got to try everything, and we have lots of things to share with you so that you can enjoy this really fun themed cruise!
Disney Cruise Line Marvel Day at Sea has moved to the Disney Magic and has updated some of it’s offerings. I will say, I had high expectations because we LOVED the Pixar Days at Sea and Star Wars cruises we took, but the cruise Marvel exceeded my expectations! It was so much fun, I will say I am now an avid Marvel fan and am already tyring to find a way to squeeze in a another Disney Marvel cruise!
We have lots more articles to help you plan a family cruise, explore Disney vacations, or enjoy a Disney cruise vacation!

Marvel Day at Sea
You can find the currently available Disney marvel cruises here. They are currently being offered on the Disney Magic during select sailings in January, Febraury, and March. The cruises can ranges from 4, 5, or 7 nights in length. Note if are on a 4-night cruise, you will not experience Pirate Night. I wish I had known that before booking; I would have booked a longer cruise to get both!
The ship leaves out of Galveston, Texas. I will say it is not my favorite port. It is a long drive to the airport. The main airport is IAH and is about a 90 minute drive. That means it is more difficult to get a flight time as you need to fly in early to make sure there are no travel delays, or add a hotel night stay which adds to the cost and logistics. On the way back, Disney advises you not schedule a flight until 1:30pm. The HOU airport is 45 minutes away, but offers fewer flight choices and is not serviced by Disney shuttle service.
NOTE: I highly recommend booking your shuttle to the port with Disney! It will cost a little more, but you will get to board after group 3. So if you book last minute or get a high boarding group number – it doesnt’ matter. You will board almost as soon as you get to the port!

The cruise itself will look like any other cruise ever day except for Marvel Day at Sea. See our Disney Magic review to learn about activities, dining, shows, pools, staterooms, and more!
On the actual Marvel Day at Sea you will exit your room to find the soundtrack for the day is heroic. The atrium will be deocrated with banners, and super hero banners will be located at venues around the ship. Certain spaces like D-Lounge will not feature regular activities as they host unique Meet-and-Greets. Make sure you refresh your ap by closing it completely and opening it back up to refresh any last minute changes. Then make your plans for the day. You will not be able to do everying! But you can do a lot and in this post I will share all the options so you can figure out what your group wants to do!
NOTE: Before you leave home, as soon as possible after booking the cruise, you will want to book your Heroic Encounters as shipboard activities. The activity is free, but a reservation is required. You will be able to sign up for both meet and greets: Headquarters (Spiderman, Black Panther, and Ironman) and Guardians (Groot and Star Lord).

Get your breakfast early so you can spend your morning seeing all the characters. They only appear in the moring and it will keep you busy for the first 2-3 hours if you want to see most of them. While some of your reserved Headquarter or Guardian character greetings may be on a different, day, the other characters are only available on Marvel Day! Here are the characters you can see:
- Headquarters (Spiderman, Black Panther, and Ironman)
- Guardians (Groot and Star Lord).
- Thor
- Loki
- Captail Marvel
- Captain America: Steve Rogers
- Captain America: Sam Wilson
- 7pm – a popular, non-advertised event in the atrium with have various other characters roaming about possibly including: Gamora, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, and others
Note: You can also see Mickey Super hero characters at the 4:30-5pm costume show and super hero celebration at 7:30pm. In addition you will see 15 Marvel heros at the 10pm Heroes Unite deck party

Here are some other activities you can choose from:
- Marvel 101 (Buena Vista) – They advertise this as a way to getyour feet wet if you don’t know much. It is a video with intermittent talking from a cast member. They will share lots of famous characters with short clips of what they are from. It was okay, but I wouldn’t waste valuable time doing it.
- Marvel Trivia – If you know a lot and want to, go for it.
- Marvel Crafts – these are paper projects or masks ideal for preschool and elementary age kids
- Marvel Comic Academy – These are guided drawing classes. They are not using a video, but done live. Each one is different so catch them all if you like to draw: Groot, Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man
- Aventers Training Initiative – This is on deck 9 by the pool and includes characters you wont get to meet in a line such as Hawkeye, Black Widow, etc. It is kind of like Jedi Training if you are familiar with that. If you have kids, I’d make this a priority!
- Little Hero Dash – this is like the Jack Jack Diaper Dash, so it is cute, but not worth giving up other activities to do this in my opinion
- Marvel Super Fan Faceoff – Gameshow for those that know a lot about Marvel
- Warriors of Wakanda – Okoye training guests in the atrium to become Dora Milaje allies (we walked by to see a little, but honestly I’m not a huge Wakanda fan)
- Avengers Training Initiative – this event is up on the stage by the pool. It is like Jedi Academy, but training to be an Avenger. It is a chance to see some other characters you can’t wait in line to see such as Black Widow, Hawkeye, etc.
- Star Spangled Musical Revue – This was one of my highlights! They offer two pre-dinner shows in Fathoms, so pick the one that works with your dining time. It is big band music from 1940s with some patriotic dancers, two vocalists, and a visit from Captain America at the end. The whole show and music is wonderful and a really fun activity. We liked it so much we saw it twice!
- Movies – They will be showing Marvel movies in your stateroom on demand, in the Buena Vista Theatre throughout the day, and several Avenger movies in the Walt Disney Theatre. If you have time, it is so fun to see them on a big screen!
Marvel Costume Celebration
While at first glance you may not think this event is worth attending, let me explain what happens. First, those that want to show off their Marvel costumes will be broken into categories and presented to the guests in the atrium. This takes about 20 minutes or so. There are some funny costumes like overweight Thor, and some adorable little kids.
The best part happens right after that. The Disney characters appear in their Marvel inspired clothes. Then you get 10 minutes to take pictures with them. They will disperse around ceck 3 and 4 to take pictures with guests. If you are quick you can get pictures with at least 2 groupings. While these characters will come back out the following day (and will appear in the 7pm show on deck), they come out as single characters instead of two at a time.
- Captain America Mickey and Spiderman Minnie (deck 4 )
- Hulk Donald Duck and Black Widow Daisy (deck 3) stage
- Thor Chip and Loki Dale (deck 3 on guest services side)
- Iron Man Goofy and Avenger Pluto (deck 3) port excursions side)
Mickey and Minnie’s Superhero Celebration
At 7:30, Mickey and friends gather on deck 9 stage for a Super Hero Celebration. I’ll be honest, this show was a let down for me, but I don’t think adults are their target audience. This show is perfect for the preschool crowd! Mickey and friends will come out a few at a time with a character trait from a super hero. It is short and fun for little kids to see the characters.
Marvel Dinner Menu
Honestly, food on Marvel day was a bit dissapointing. On previous ships they had more themed food in Vanelope’s sweet shop. On this ship you will find a free Marvel themed Krispie Treat in Cove Cafe and two desserts at the buffet for lunch that have a chocolate on top: Pym, and Iron Man. That’s it.
For dinner, the menu is the same across all the dining rooms. The menu itself looks like a comic and is adorable! I’ve shared it above for you to look at. The food itself, not that exciting or special. We tried it our first Marvel cruise. The second time, we told our server we were going to skip dinner and see an Avengers movie in the theatre instead. He acknowledged a lot of people didn’t care for the menu and told us he’s see us the next night.
Heroes Unite
The whole Mavel Day at Seas was pretty amazing, but the BEST part with the Heroes Unite show at 10pm. I always have high expectations because Disney always does everything so well, but this show blew me away! It was amazing!
You will see over 15 Marvel characters: Hawkeye, Spiderman, Wakonda warrier, Black Panther, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Dr. Strange, Thor, Loki, Iron man, Star Lord, Groot, Gamora, Black Skull, plus various Hydra guys, Stan Lee, and Fury. Some will repel down the front funnel, several will zipline from the back funnel over the crowd to the stage, Spiderman will climb up the rear funnel, there will be simulated fighting, and of course – Disney’s signature fireworks at sea. Don’t miss this show!
HINT: Get here early to get a good view, although there is really not a bad view. I loved sitting on the pool cover. You have to sit, but it puts you in the middle of the action.

As we tucked it for the night there was a Thor’s hammer towel “animal” on our bed. The perfect end to the perfect action-filled day.
So what did I think of Disney’s Marvel Cruise? We loved it! There was something for everyone and more than you could possibly squeeze in a day! I can’t wait to do another Disney Marvel Cruise!
