Chilean Fjords

The Chilean Fjords are an absolute must-see! We had the most unforgettable experience cruising through the stunning Patagonian landscapes when our original port plans fell through. Spending a whole day surrounded by these awe-inspiring fjords was truly breathtaking. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable adventure, no matter your age. Put it on your bucket list – you won’t regret it!
We were suppose to stpo at Punta Arepas, Chile and visit an Estancia. It would have been fun I'm sure, but after seeing how beautiful the scenery was in the south american fjords, I'm so glad we missed this port. If yo uare planning an Antarctica Cruise, make sure your itinerary includes the Chilean Fjords!

Alternatively, you can fly into one of the major cities in southern Chile, such as Puerto Montt or Punta Arenas, and then take a ferry or boat ride through the fjords. This option allows you to enjoy the convenience of air travel while still experiencing the stunning landscapes of the fjords.

If you are staying in a city off of the fjords there are countless activities to enjoy in the Chilean fjords, from sailing and kayaking to hiking and wildlife watching. You can explore remote islands, visit fishing villages, and even take a dip in natural hot springs.

Chilean fjords are a unique and stunning example of nature’s diversity. Located in the southern part of Chile, these fjords are characterized by their steep cliffs, deep waters, and lush forests. The geography of the fjords is shaped by the Andes Mountains and provides a perfect habitat for a wide variety of animal species.

One of the most iconic animals that can be found in the Chilean fjords is the southern right whale. These magnificent creatures migrate to the area each year to breed and give birth in the calm waters of the fjords. Other marine mammals such as seals, dolphins, and orcas can also be spotted in the fjords, making it a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts.

On land, the fjords are home to unique bird species such as the Andean condor, the majestic symbol of the Andes Mountains. The forests that line the fjords provide shelter for animals like the elusive puma and the playful South American river otter.
